PANAC sucessfully holds its 40-Year Reunion at Clemson's Madren Center

Clemson, South Carolina -  After months of planning, the Pi Alpha National Alumni Coalition (PANAC) held their 40-year Reunion Celebration at the Madren Conference Center at Clemson University. 

The reunion gathered over 80 brothers and 30 guests under the Reunion theme, "Transcending All: 40 Years of Pi Alpha".  The event was held from February 23-25, 2023, and was the seventh reunion at Clemson.

Pi Alpha Alumni Reunions have been a great way to connect Pi Alpha Alumni and have been sponsored every five years since 1993. PANAC has coordinated the reunion since its creation in 2000. This year, The reunion was commemorated with a special Pi Alpha Box, with several novelty items celebrating the 40-Year reunion, including some historical photos covering the last 40 years

Events started with a Mixer in Greenville, South Carolina, on Thursday, February 23. Events continued on Friday morning, with a tour of the Slave Graveyards by Professor Rhondda Thomas and a Welcome reception later afternoon. That reception led to Miss Black & Gold Pageant, sponsored by the college chapter, later that night.

Saturday morning's events featured a morning breakfast and an in-person Business meeting. After morning events, a Reunion Cookout was held at the Barnes Center. The reunion closed on Saturday night with the Reunion Gala Dinner with over 125 attendees. 

The Gala featured Brigader General F. Carlos Hill as Keynote Speaker and had a live band, Ace Party Band, for entertainment.  Four of the nine Charter Brothers, Bill McCall, Kenneth Robinson, Micheal Ferguson, and N. Douglas Hall, reflected on the occasion. All spoke to the sense of history and accomplishment started the Charter brothers and continued by the current college chapter. 

To close the Reunion Gala, Convenor Awards were given to Brothers Don R. Weston, Dr. Jerome McClendon, along with Dr. Lori Pindor. Brothers Chris Jenkins and Marque Macon announced the PANAC Lifetime Award to our current Convenor, Dr. Arthur E. Doctor.

"We are proud to have gathered the largest number of Pi Alpha Alumni to this year's Reunion," said Reunion Committee Co-Chair Jerkeamon Smalls. There was a Pi Alpha Reunion Souvenir compiled with program information and a historical archive, including a 40-year Chronology of the history of Pi Alpha. Reunion Co-chair Trevis Johnson added, "We would like to thank our brothers for attending and the many supporters for the reunion." Several "lines" purchased Ads to defray the cost of the reunion and allow the college brother to attend at no cost

Thanks to the Reunion Co-Chairs and their Planning Committee for the hard work to make our latest Reunion such a great success. We are looking forward to the 45th-year Celebration.
