Story by Brother Jakari Wright (Spring 2023), President Pi Alpha Chapter
Clemson University, South Carolina - I had a great experience at the Clemson Alumni Association Distinguished Service Award Gala, where Brother Aubrey Harrell was honored with the highest recognition an alumnus can receive, the Distinguished Service Award along with four other alumni winners. It was great to be in an environment filled with individuals who are not only achieving great things as Clemson alumni but are also making meaningful contributions to their communities.
The evening brought together an impressive group of about 150–200 alumni and guests, creating an atmosphere full of pride, purpose, and Tiger spirit. It was great connecting with fellow alumni brothers, including Brothers Marque Macon, Tony Washington, Dr. Ken Robinson, Cleveland Britton and Carlos Hill.
The event was held at the new Nieri Alumni Center, an incredible space that showcases Clemson's commitment to its alumni. From the alumni lounge to the view overlooking the golf course, this building was a masterpiece. (This building had me wanting to graduate right then and there).
Celebrating Brother Harrell’s well deserved recognition reminded me of the lasting impact one person can have. I left feeling both proud and inspired, motivated by the thought that perhaps one day, I too could be considered for such an honor.
Congratulations to Bro. Harrell to this well deserved honor.
