Clemson, South Carolina - Brother Tevin Hester has been on a tear in 2016.

Hester's performance in the 2016 Track and Field competitions with Clemson's Men's Track Team have been amazing by any measure. Brother Hester has set records in the 100 meters on March 30 at the Nike Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays and this month [May 2016] in the 200 meters at the 2016 ACC Outdoor Championships, making him only the 25th man in college history to run faster than 20.15 seconds in the 200 Meter event.

A senior at Clemson, he joined Pi Alpha Chapter in the 2015 Fall Semester on the line, Four Sons of Silence (S.O.S). Hester is ranked #1 in the country for the 100 meter event and #2 in the country for the 200 meter event. (source TFRRS, www.tfrrs.org).

He will be competing at the NCAA Championship and U.S. Olympic Trials in both Eugene, Oregon. NCAA Outdoor Championships are on June 8-11 and Brother Hester will be competing in individual events and with Clemson with as a team. Hester has placed as high as fifth at the Championships, but he is looking to better that mark.

In July, he hopes to have the opportunity again to compete in 100 Meter and 200 Meter events. The 100 Meter races are slated for July 2nd, and 3rd, and the 200 Meters races are scheduled the 1st Round, Semi-Finals, on July 7th and 8th, respectively, and then the finals on July 9th. If he places in the top four of either of those events; he will make the Olympics as a member of the U.S. Olympic Team.

So what does the Oxford, North Carolina native think about the chance to compete at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio? "I would feel appreciative, knowing all of the hard work, patience, and guidance that has gone into this whole process.", said Brother Hester. "I would also feel a sense of relief knowing I reached one of my goals, but also motivated to get a medal."

But whether he makes the Olympic team or not, he is likely to have a stellar career in Track and Field as a professional. There is certainly no doubt that his Clemson career is one for the record books, being an eight-time all-American and qualifying for the NCAA Championships all of his four years at Clemson.

Now, he is poised for great moments this summer, and we are all wishing Brother Hester the best of luck as he compete for the chance of a lifetime - winning a gold medal at the Summer Olympics.
