Concord, California -Brother Verdale Benson has been selected to compete in NBC's America Ninja Warrior, Season 10 this spring. Verdale, who was initiated into Pi Alpha Chapter in Spring 2000 on the Line Four Pharaohs of the Apocalypse, has been training for the event since being selected earlier this spring after applying for the show in December. Brother Benson has always been the model of fitness and many who know him and are not surprised that he was selected to the competition. After graduating from Clemson in 2003, he joined the U.S. Army and served two tours in Afghanistan and Iraqi while serving as a Medical Services Officer, and earning a Bronze Star. After his duty in the Army, Verdale earned a Master degree at Emory University in 2009.

Verdale has been training up to five times a week (often twice a day) to get ready for his chance to compete. His opportunity will be taped on March 6 -7, 2018 in Los Angeles at the NBC Studios. The competition will be broadcast later this year. We wish Brother Benson the best of luck and we will be there watching as he competes for the title, American Ninja Warrior!

We are proud of you, Verdale!!

From Brother Benson's Facebook page"It’s official!! I’m happy to announce that I got the call earlier this week to compete on American Ninja Warrior season 10!! I appreciate all the love and support of my friends and family as I’ve trained for this dream over the past year. I especially couldn’t have done this without the unwavering support of my wife, Mariel Heller-Benson, who sacrificed many early mornings and late nights for my training and travels to local competitions. I’m honored to have been chosen by the casting execs at NBC out of the thousands of athletes that applied and excited for the opportunity to conquer Mt. Midoriyama!!

💪🏾🤗

PLEASE SHARE my story... I hope to successfully represent all aspects of my life: my origins of Clemson and Pendleton, SC, the men of Alpha Phi Alpha, fellow military Vets, Physician Assistants and all medical colleagues, all family, and friends that I’ve known throughout my life! This is for all of us!!
