PANAC celebrates its 34th Anniverisary with a Call to Action

Post date: Feb 24, 2017 8:33:16 AM

Greetings Brothers, I hope you all enjoyed our 34th Charter Day of the Prestigious Pi Alpha Chapter and 730th House of Alpha! Each Anniversary is a time to reflect on the bond and privileges we have as Brothers of Alpha. We each have gained wonderful friendships and new brothers as family on our journey. I encourage each Brother to reach out to their Line Brothers or those brothers that made a huge impact during your time at Clemson over the next 7 days. Additionally, please don’t forget to complete the 35th Reunion Planning Survey. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdRus9-4ZCLIPcPba84Xc4m-tSwqjtpDlHJ_1GhrKKqAPXLgg/viewform?c=0&w=1 A Call to Action

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. develops leaders, promotes brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities. As Clemson University Alpha Brothers, we have an opportunity to support a great cause focused on Men of Color. The Clemson University Office of Inclusion and Equity will be hosting a Men of Color National Summit at Clemson University in efforts to close the achievement gap for African-American and Hispanic males, from cradle to career.

The event will bringing together approximately 2,000 high school and college students, business professionals, educators, government officials and community leaders from around the country, the summit will emphasize the importance of education, best practices and choices to increase high school and college graduation rates. The national conference will lead to awareness of the changing U.S. demographics by enhancing the experience of men of color through involvement and engagement, preparing them for a global mindset. Our very own, Bro. Marc Morial -President and chief executive officer, National Urban League and former mayor, New Orleans, Louisiana will be a speaker at the event.

I’m seeking the Brothers’ support as sponsors for a table of 10 for this event. A sponsored table of $2,000 table provides the following:

  • Admission for 10 people on both days of the summit and keynote luncheons on both days

  • In addition to attendance at the summit and luncheons, purchasing a table will also help to provide support for the 400 members of the summit’s high school cohort — Tiger Alliance. Tiger Alliance is a group of ninth-, 10th- and 11th-graders that Clemson University will work to mentor and engage until their high school graduation.

We currently have several alumni agreeing to attend on behalf of PANAC plus having members of Pi Alpha to join the event. They goal is to secure the table by March 1. Please find the link below available for brother to learn more about the summit and to donate towards the table sponsorship:

No amount is too small. Thank you Bro. Bobby Clark (Spr. ‘85) for your technical support.

If you have any immediate question or concerns, please let me know, and I’ll be sure to respond. Thank you for your time and I look forward to another great year in the bond!

Fraternally
