APAPACASE Scholarship reaches $70K milestone towards our goal

Clemson, South Carolina -PANAC's Scholarship effort reached a major milestone as we exceeded $70K in the Alpha Phi Alpha Pi Alpha Clarence Addison Scholarship Endowment (APAPACASE). Starting in 2003 and formally established in 2008, APAPACASE began awarding scholarships to current Clemson students in 2012. Since then scholarships have been awarded to three students.

PANAC started its " $70k for 7 Jewels Campaign” at the 30th Year Anniversary Reunion with the goal to grow the corpus of the scholarship endowment to 70K.

Here is a letter from Bros. Aubrey Harrell and Jerry Middleton to brothers and givers explaining our scholarship status and our $70k for 7 Jewels Campaign:

Our balance is over 70K but we have a larger goal for the APAPACASE Scholarship

August 5, 2015

As you can see from the scholarship endowment thermometer, thanks to your ongoing support, we have reached the $70k mark in total endowment funds. The balance is comprised of three parts:

  1. Corpus-$53,900-The amount of contributions that form the basis of the endowment and remain in perpetuity.

  2. Appreciation-$14,400-Amount of appreciation credited to the endowment based on overall CU endowment performance (e.g. marketplace gains and losses).

  3. Spending-$1,500-The portion of the endowment appreciation that is available to award scholarships.

As you can see, we are 77% of the way towards meeting our $70k for 7 Jewels Campaign <https://www.cualphas.org/endowment> to get the corpus up to $70k, by our 35th Anniversary, which is a little more than two years away. We are well within reach of our goal, but it will take all of us to get there.

As you continue to support the scholarship through contributions to the endowment, please make sure you check with your employer for matching gifts programs. If your company has one, please reach out to us before you make your donation to the endowment so that we can assist you in making sure your company's match gets credited appropriately.
