Pi Alpha's Miss Black & Gold Queen wins the District Title

Greenville, South Carolina - Pi Alpha's Miss Black & Gold, Miss Taylor Newsome, was named South Carolina District (SCAlpha) Miss Black & Gold on Saturday Night at the District Pageant held during the South Carolina District Conference. More than 280 people attended the pageant which was held at the Greenville Hilton.

Miss Newsome is a senior, majoring in Communications, at Clemson and competed against six other chapter queens from across the state. The pageant was a part of the District state-wide conference which started on Friday, October 10th and ended Sunday, October 12th. The Conference was attended by 200 Brothers and their families.

As SCAlpha Miss Black & Gold she now gets to compete at the Southern Regional Competition in Orlando Florida, in March of 2015. The Southern Region, sometimes referred to as AlphaSouth, consist of seven districts which happened to be defined by state lines: Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
